Reflections | A Sanctuary by the Sea

Melkbosstrand

Property Description

This home tells the story of transformation, vision, and a deep love for the coast. When the current owners first discovered this once dated sea-side house, it was the breathtaking views and the untouched beauty of the area that captured their hearts. They envisioned a space where coastal living could be experienced at its finest. With a passion for reimagining homes, they set out to turn this house into a contemporary retreat.

Working closely with renowned architect Louise Wileman, the owners embarked on a journey to create a home that honours its spectacular setting—offering sweeping views of the ocean, Robben Island, and Table Mountain. Each sunrise and sunset here unfold with a sense of calm and connection to nature, with Little Bay Beach just a dune away and the adjacent Blaauwberg Nature Reserve inviting daily encounters with the unspoiled coastal landscape.

Every element of the redesign was carefully considered to create a home that celebrates the ever-changing reflections of the ocean, while enhancing the sense of light and openness through large floor to ceiling windows/sliding doors.

Designed with dual living in mind, the home offers flexibility without compromising on style with bedrooms, lounges, and kitchens on both floors.

The spacious terraces on both floors are perfect vantage points to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, bringing the outdoors inside through expansive glass sliding doors that reflect the sky and sea.

For the current owners, this home is a dream realized—a modern sanctuary where coastal tranquillity meets luxury living. They’ve poured their heart into every detail, creating a space where the magic of the ocean, the light, and the views are celebrated at every turn.

Nestled in the suburb of Melkbosstrand with its charming village atmosphere, the lifestyle here is as captivating as the home itself. Local cafes and eateries serve up fresh seafood, and outdoor adventures await—whether it’s a stroll along the shore, a surf session, or a hike through nearby nature reserves. This home is a dream come to life.
