This is a magnificent 125 hectare portion of the Swartberg Private Wildlife Estate which is situated on the slopes of the majestic Swartberg between Calitzdorp and Oudtshoorn. It is situated only 40 minutes drive from both Oudtshoorn, via a tarred road, and Calitzdorp, via part tarred and part gravel road, 90 minutes drive from the George Airport and only 15 minutes away from the Swartberg Pass. A World Heritage Site.
The main house consists of 5 bedrooms. 2 of which are interconnecting and share one bathroom.
3 of the bedrooms are en-suite.
The large main bedroom which easily fits a king size bed, has ample wardrobe space. It opens out onto the balcony. The main bathroom comes with a bath, a shower, wash basin and WC.
The second, large, king size room, and a third, smaller bedroom, makes up a family suite. These two rooms share a bathroom which has a shower, a wash basin and a WC.
The bathroom adjoining the large, fourth bedroom also comes with a shower, a wash basin and WC.
The fifth bedroom opens up onto the balcony and adjoins a bathroom with bath, shower, wash basin and a WC.
The flatlet, in the separate building housing the parking parking area and shed, consist of a large bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.
The well equipped kitchen has a fridge-freezer, an electric hob and oven, a gas hob (in case of power outages) and is large enough for a table that can seats 10 people.
The kitchen flows into the bar-b-que room and then the patio which has a comfortable seating area.
The house is alarmed and uses the security service that several of the other homes on the estate use. The entire estate has a 2.5 metre high perimeter game fence.
One can walk around the estate among the zebras, the giraffes, kudus etc. There is direct access onto the Swartberg Mountains where you can enjoy hikes, picnics and mountain biking.
This wildlife estate is ideal for activities such as game drives, mountain biking, hiking, swimming and fishing. There are fabulous Bushman paintings to explore on the cliffs in the area.
There are approximately 900 animals on the estate. These include species such as Blesbok, Springbok, Red Hartebeest, Wildebeest, Impala, Nyala, Cape Mountain Zebra, Giraffe, Gemsbok, Eland, Kafue Lechwe, Reedbuck, Waterbuck.
The Lechwe, Zebra, Giraffe, Eland, Blesbok and Springbok are regular visitors to the Witfontein dam in front of the house.
220 bird species have also been recorded.
